HOW TO TACKLE SPRING CLEANING EFFECTIVELY

Blossoming of the flowers and the warmer air means that its spring season. When we think of spring, we also think about the inevitable task of spring cleaning. Some of us look forward to spring cleaning, whereas the rest of us dread it and try to put it off for as long as possible. If you are a York University residence, here are a few ways to tackle spring cleaning effectively.

  1. Freshen up your closet:

A new season means that you don’t need your winter clothing anymore. So it is time to pack them up and cut ties with the clothes that you have absolutely no use for. You could do your bit and donate the clothes that you do not think you are going to be needing again. If you are unsure about some clothes, you can start a rotation of clothes with your friends. This way you will be able to mix up your look and also prevent your closet from spiralling out of control.

  1. Bid farewell to your old textbooks:

It’s time to get some money back on your old textbooks. You could sell them back to your school bookstore. If they refuse to do so, you can always sell them through your friends or online. As school textbooks are quite expensive, the chances are high that someone would take them off your hands, if they are in a decent condition.

  1. Redecorate:

When you start to move the things around your room, you are going to find things which had gone missing a long while ago. This would help you de-clutter. Redecorating and reorganizing your room could help you maximize the space that you have. Also rearranging makes the process of cleaning much easier.

  1. Give your Resume a makeover:

Springtime means that summer is right around the corner. Summer means internships. Irrespective of whether you are looking for an internship or not, it is a good idea to update your resume, in case a great opportunity arises.

  1. Go through your fridge:

Opening the fridge and standing in the front is an all-time favourite task. It’s time to go through all the things that are in your fridge and throw away anything that has gone bad. We end up purchasing things which we never use. So if it has expired the toss it in the trash.

  1. Click-Click:

Social media has a far-reaching effect. Having pictures of unflattering pictures can negatively affect your job hunt, as it could deter managers from hiring you. So go through your social media and delete all such images or posts.

  1. Reuse Recycle:

Get moving and go through the papers which have been piling up in stacks. Keep the ones that you think you might be needing. The rest of the paper you could either recycle it and make a handmade paper out of it or shred them and turn them into confetti. It’s time to get rid of them.
